Icon5 JDM H22 OR H22A4??

Hey guys,

I been doing some re-search abo ut this. Theres a person who selling me a JDM H22 block for a good price, since he told me that i was just thinking to try to get all the jdm parts for that H22 and rebuilding it. But looking for prices this guy its selling me a H22A4 for a good price too, but he says that im gonna have to get some parts so make it start, i gues i was trying to do a swap so he just took some parts. I dnt know a lot of H22 since its my first honda. But i dont really know where should i go, buy the JDM H22 and get all the parts to rebuild it or just buy the longblock of a H22A4. Im not right now in a rush to swap a H22, im really gonna taka my time on finding the wiring cable, ECU and the other stuff. Wich one should i get? or should i just go to G22 OR g23??

Re: JDM H22 OR H22A4??

Yea what? Why would you buy 2 incomplete engines, then go threw hassle of building one of them, ONTOP of this being your first honda engine?

Buy an online, JDM h22a engine, for 1000~1200 bucks. I would not trust buying an engine in pieces from someone, especially if I'm not familiar with the actual engine.

You're on an internet forum... professionals are nowhere to be found. I'm pretty sure nobody has put in any more thought because they can't understand what you're talking about.

Re: JDM H22 OR H22A4??

As far as jdm vs usdm goes the main differences are in the head. Jdm has more aggresive cams. But for h22 u could use an a4 block w/22a head and that would give u a slightly beefier block. The A4s have 55mm main bearings and the others are 50mm. Although its an open deck vs a closed. So there's little pro/cons to them both.

Re: JDM H22 OR H22A4??

Whatever one will be less expensive for you in the end is the better choice. Look at the parts that are there, and the prices of the parts you will need for both. With how similar the engines are, just go with the cheaper one. You will be happy with both engines.

Re: JDM H22 OR H22A4??

I'd go with a d15. Jk dude, either or. You prolly won't be able to tell the difference between the two honestly.

ive had both in my lude. stock h22a4 then swaped the jdm h22a. to be honest i really didnt see a difference in the two. it was a 2 month period to where i didnt drive so maybe thats why but they both were capiable of the same thing pretty much.

Re: JDM H22 OR H22A4??

Engrish much?

I don't really know what exactly ur asking but I would get a jdm h22 from an imported engine distributor.. U can get the COMPLETE engine or longblock and they will do a compression test and start it up if u buy the front clip lol

I wouldn't buy a incomplete engine that u know nothing about.. An engine importer/distributor usually has warranties on their engines too!
