Re: H23!!? Noobie question :)
That's what I'm hoping. $300 isn't barely anything for a perfectly running motor with a lot of life left. If it's compatible without modification, I'm definitely getting it. I'm tired of hearing my valves tick and mass hesitation!

just to chime to chime in, if the other motor is a vtec you need the ecu and wire harness

Re: H23!!? Noobie question :)
Everything will drop straight in as long as you use the appropriate ECU (Manual ECU for manual trans obviously), and as long as both cars were the same OBD system. You'll be fine. Go for it.

Re: H23!!? Noobie question :)
All of that said, have you even considered working on the existing engine? Valve tick is most likely gonna be on the new one, as that's pretty much Honda and their loose clearances...and the hesitation could easily be just a tune up.
I say do a tune up, get this one running great, buy the other one and have it to build the sh*t out of so that it'll be mean as f*ck when the current one finally dies ;) If not....I'll buy your current one for $300 lol BTW 160k isnt THAT many miles...mine has 195 and after I did a seafoam and new plugs pulls as hard as my freinds with a 60k swap lol |

my h23 is from 93 and has 250k on it, still runs like a champ. 300 seem low to anyone?

It's because the previous owner did absolutely nothing to keep the engine in good condition.

Re: H23!!? Noobie question :)
auto and manual engines are the same. as long as they're both obd1, your good
![]() BTW, you might as well doing the timing belt and seals while the motor is outta the car. much, muchhhh easier ![]()
