Re: rims & tires

15x15s work well. Tyre size will be 28x15in.

Yeah you'll wanna get a nice sized contact patch on the asphalt, especially in the snow and ice.

Re: rims & tires

Seriously though, if you're up in VT I assume you'll be getting plenty of snow..wider tires don't perform as well in the snow but rather just pack it down beneath you. If you're shopping for tires specifically for the winter, get some thinner ones. Stock size on my '95 is 205/55/15's, so I'd consider taking it down to a 195 width. but since you haven't specified yet what size rim you're running, I can't tell you that for sure.

This is a decent thread about tire sizes, but it only really covers larger size tires. I'd say it's worth a look though, since you're asking about tires in the first place.

Thinner tires for snow, wider for mud :)

Re: rims & tires

I've always preferred 16's on the 4th gens myself.

Re: rims & tires

16s aren't bad. Finding cheap tires for it though are. For some reason I still think 15s are big enough when u look at it.

yea good 16 inch tires aint cheap. i payed around $400 for all 4 of my Hankook's mounted and balanced. I prefer to buy the 13's for my civic where its more like $200 for all 4. I think 16's look awesome on the 4th gens. When you get over that i just think its too big. I say stick with 16's, maybe 17's if its the right rim.

Re: rims & tires

Get a set of good fitting 17s and roll on 225 40's, then call it a day...
