engine wont crank!! quick question

im about to head home, i try to start the car but it doesnt crank..ive searched and come up with the starter as the possibility of the problem..i hear the fuel pump and main relay..all fuses good..when i turn the key, all dash lights turn on..im wondering if the ignition coil or igniter have anything to do with the starter not turning on?..this is on a jdm h22..

Re: engine wont crank!! quick question

im actually helping someone else with the same problem.

make sure you have 12.6 battery voltage

make sure both the battery ground and the starter ground are good.

see if you can hear the starter solenoid click..if it dose then your starter is not turning over, which means its bad

if you have a volt meter, check voltage at the solenoid while trying to start it, should read same as your battery voltage, maybe a little bit less. if not.... then

make sure your clutch safety switch is not the problem, you can simply jump the connector together to bypass the switch.. if did that and still wont start.. check the starter relay

look at the picture below

Re: engine wont crank!! quick question

starter is something you should consider buying new?

i believe it will fit, h22 is higher compression so i don't know if that affects it at all or not, buy im 90 percent sure it will fit just fine

Re: engine wont crank!! quick question

alrite thanks..if anything, i can just look at the starter from a 5gen and compare it to my starter for a parts match..if it looks the same, it should then fit and work with my engine
