the difference between the stock knob and this one are night and day. the shifter practically falls into gear with no notchiness or effort. it feels much better in your hand as well.

Re: prolly the best purchase ever!!

with a short throw you would still feel that notchiness...the weighted shift knob is super awesome and less hassle on the throws. i got the jtc ss and a vision motor sports spherical knob and its awesome. the difference is....mines have the shift numbers on it

Re: prolly the best purchase ever!!

Ehh I couldn't honestly tell you cause I don't have a short throw adapter on my shifter. the only thing I did was I cut about an inch and a half out of my shifter rod and angled more forward. I don't like the way these shifters are angled back from the factory and they are to tall for my taste lol

I have a momo one kinda like that. I warn you, if you haven't left your car sitting in the hot sun all day yet, cover your shift knob. That thing gets so hot. When I drive home from work I literally have to use a cloth to cover the knob so I can shift. Those things take awhile to cool down too.

Re: prolly the best purchase ever!!

@OP Sweet shifter! I presume that it was threaded? Are you planning to leave it like it is, or maybe some etching or something?

@Miata you might want to get a window shade. I totally feel your pain, I'm from Arizona where A/C isn't an "option," but a window shade can move your car from solar oven to "well, it's still to warm in hear." But your shifter shouldn't suck up solar power.

it looks like a nice knob. how does it feel in hand?

things like the shift knob have a large impact on the feel of a car.

shift knob pedals and steering wheel all have an impact on the feel and feedback of a car.

i like the feel of weighted knobs but since i live in the desert ill keep my sh leather knob....at least for now. Im thinkin of getting a nice weighted knob for times other than summer lol

Re: prolly the best purchase ever!!

Greddy makes a nice counterweight shiftknob, what they're made to do is counter the increase in resisitance you get when putting in a short throw shifter. So when you do so, the resisitance is as close to stock as possible, but a shorter travel. When installed on a stock shifter, its like butter.

I've had my experiences with the hot knobs before when i had my 06 sentra se-r specv. Def sucks but hey it's a small price to pay lol. And no etching it's too pretty haha it has a very small blox logo on the top of it. And silude I'm pretty sure all the Honda Acura applications are the same thread pattern 10x1.5 and they do have the ones with the patterns you just gotta find one that suits your taste
