Buying a Prelude

Hey, Forum! I'm considering buying a 1996 Honda Prelude Si VTEC!

I wanted to know if it's worth it. It's got 90,000 miles on, has never seen a winter, has never been beat on, and it has a clean CarFax (no accidents). He wants $4,400 for it.

Is that worth it, or should I take the 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT that I found?

Re: Buying a Prelude

i would never buy a hyundai personally...

a 1996 prelude vtec in good shape with only 90,000 original milage is definitely worth $4400. imo it is worth more than that. it would be a good buy.

Re: Buying a Prelude

its not just about it being a prelude. yea our opinions are obviously biased. a 2004 hyundai tiburan is really not a very good car at all.

also blue book should be significantly higher then his asking price for that prelude. to find a prelude for that price that is a 1996 vtec model in good condition is a very good find.

Re: Buying a Prelude

Get the lude and live the best life.....a word of caution- the prelude will make you an addict to its curves and awesomeness!!!

Re: Buying a Prelude

you should check it all around check the body of the car to see if its clean, interior to make sure its good and especially check the engine/tranny. Check if it has any CELs, if all thats good go for the lude. sounds like a good price imo

Re: Buying a Prelude

The Tiburon's are no doubt sexy, but I would get the Lude. Tibby's are far too heavy and pretty much slugs.

Re: Buying a Prelude

#1) ditch the tiburon and take the lude. #2) from my experience ANY good deal is suspect. If you have a mechanic you trust, see if they will do a "pre purchase inspection." If I had followed my advise I might not know all these awesome PZ people, BUT I also wouldn't have a 93 h23a with a gimp tranny.

But in the end, the Si Vtec FTW Just my opinion

Re: Buying a Prelude

Just yank the handle to release the passenger's seat and sent it flying toward the dash. Plenty enough room then, provided neither of you mind vinyl headliners being in your face lol.
