Icon5 ABS Motor Relay

I have a '92 Prelude S & it's missing the ABS Motor Relay. The diagram thats on top of the fuse box has the (ABS Motor Relay) in parentheses. Does that mean that its an optional relay or is it supposed to be there?

Also, could this be the reason my cruise control isn't working?

Re: ABS Motor Relay

They use the same diagram for all preludes I'm pretty sure and the Prelude S didn't have ABS or cruise (as far as I know) which could explain why your cruise isn't working. Take a look in your engine bay, and tell me if you see this:

That is your cruise control actuator, it would be in that exact same spot, if you see it, then you have a problem with your cruise control which we can diagnose, if you don't see it then you don't have cruise, and you don't have a problem with it because it isn't in the car. Hope that helps man.

Re: ABS Motor Relay

Yes, I do have that. Here's a pic of my engine. The actuator isn't completely in the shot because this is an old pic. I think that you can still see part of it though. I can take a better picture tomorrow when the sun comes if needed.

Re: ABS Motor Relay

Oh nah, I see it man. There should be a cable running from it, into the firewall. Make sure that cable is intact, and then make sure it is connected to the gas pedal, first and foremost.

Re: ABS Motor Relay

Also, check all the vacuum lines running to/from your actuator.

Re: ABS Motor Relay

From the pic, you do not have ABS, so you don't need an ABS relay. What exactly does your cruise not do? Power at the main switch?

Re: ABS Motor Relay

My cruise control wont turn on. I checked the cable at the gas pedal and it looks like its attached properly. When I pull on the cable it depresses the gas pedal. I checked the fuse and its fine. When I press the cruise control button thats next to the dimmer and sunroof buttons, the light doesn't come on.

Re: ABS Motor Relay

*Shrugs* **** it, pull it out and tuck the bay Nah but seriously now, there are some vacuum lines running to that actuator, check to make sure they run to the IM.
