My own ac wireup..

So because the wiring and circuit boards are so bad in the 4th gen prelude . My ac turns on no prob, but when I turn it off. it likes to just kick on by itself. So im gunna wire up a switch for the compressor. Then i can turn it off when i need to and not have to worry about it weighing me down when i dont want it on. (night time).

So my question here is will it be okay to just but a kill switch if you wanna call it on the compressor. And If the ac does turn on the fans will turn on but not the compressor. I just wanted to make sure you can do this without messing up the A/C . I thought it would work fine.

Thanks let me know.

dude... because it turns on when the ac button is off. I dont want it going on and off all the time. that will blow the compressor clutch.

sounds to me like you would be fine. And like you said you dont want to blow your ac turning it on and off all the time. I say go for it!

Re: My own ac wireup..

With the same amount of effort you could just fix the problem, resolder the climate control board.
