Totally not enough info, dude.

Halogen bulbs, or HID kit? That will give us a place to start.

So what all did you change, just the headlight housings? Did everything work before changing them?

Re: High beam issues please help! aftermarket!

Ight, so if im not mistakin u sayin that, ya regular headlight bulbs work but wen u turned on ya high beams they stay on (the highbeams), they wont turn off?? Even if u turn the car off they stay on??
If thats the problem, u got positive wire of your bulb harness touchin ground. u cud rewire them or put sum electrical tape around it. and check the fuses for them too under the hood.

Though I don't agree with his diagnosis, I wouldn't advise you try to discredit those who attempt to assist you.

Re: High beam issues please help! aftermarket!

I am having a similar problem. My car is a Canadian 97 Prelude and has DRL. DRL works fine; parking lights work fine; low beams work fine. My problem is with the high beams. When the low beams are already on, pulling the lever does not turn the high beams. When all lights are off, or when parking lights are on, pulling the lever turns on low beams and only the driver's high beam.

I changed the bulbs to no avail. I used a multi-meter to check the passenger side high beam harness, and I don't have juice. What's the next step?

Re: High beam issues please help! aftermarket!

Milan, I would check the fuses and relays. After that, there's a bunch of different things.

Thank you. I have actually already checked the fuses visually, but I might replace them just to be sure. I have not yet looked at the relays, so that will be my next step. My mechanic suggested the "multi-purpose switch," which is very expensive to replace, so I'm trying to troubleshoot further before diving in that far.

The switch isn't that expensive from RockAuto Auto Parts

You're right, it's not bad, but I don't wanna spend $50 just to see if that does the trick.

I'm starting to think I found the right rabbit holes to look down, thanks to a Google search:
High beams not working [Archive] - Toronto Prelude Club
Honda Accord DRL Relay Repair HOWTO
DRL relay fix - Toronto Prelude Club

Hope this works for my problem, and hope it helps someone else.

Re: High beam issues please help! aftermarket!

Wow, that was so easy. It took me longer to find my soldering iron in the garage than it did to complete this DIY repair, and it fixed my problem 100%. I'm talking stupid simple. Just follow the directions at Honda Accord DRL Relay Repair HOWTO and you'll be up and running in no time.
