installing tokico blues and need some advice.

I have a 96 honda prelude vtec. The car has 170k on it. I bought a set of tokico blue shocks and springs and am going to be installing them within the next week or so. My question is, do I need to/would it be a good time to replace ANY of the bushings and/or mounts? Example: Coil Spring Insulator, Coil Spring Seat, Shock Absorber Bushing, Shock Mount, Stabilizer Bar Bushing, Strut Mount, Strut Mount Bushing, Strut Rod Bushing. I do not know if any of the aforementioned parts are damaged and probably will not know until I take the original suspension off, but is there anything other than JUST the shocks and springs that it would be a good idea to order now, so that I can have them ready to replace?

FYI. I am on rockauto.com right now ready to order parts haha I just need to know what I should get? I mean I am pretty sure that those rubber bushings that the springs sit on should be replaced..... i just dont really know exactly what they are called or what else to order. Also I forgot to ask about the rubber mounts that you see from under the hood. The piece of paper (installation instructions lol) that I got with the suspension says that it may need to be cut for the suspension to fit properly??

I'd suggest replacing as much as you can afford to. It'll only improve the ride of the car after all. Things don't need to be damaged to be worn and working less efficently.

Re: installing tokico blues and need some advice.

man.... so I guess nobody has ever installed new suspension on a 4th gen prelude b4..... not a single person at my local honda dealership can tell me what I need to order to be prepared. not a single person on these forums has any experience (apparently) with installing new suspension. It seems like a pretty straightforward question. what mounts or bushings should I replace as i am replacing the struts/springs. I guess nobody has a clue. Oh well. I will just find out on the way I guess. oh thanks anyway guys I just talked to a mechanic that works out of his garage and he told me what I needed in less than 5 mins. thanks anyway :l

patience, this forum is slow especially when you ask questions when it comes to what parts to replace .. but I can do better than your mechanic, I'll point you to a better direction .. just follow these links .. parts are straight from Honda, so you know they're quality and they'll fit .. with Honda part numbers !!

Left and Right knuckle and associated parts .. Honda Automotive Parts

Front shock and associated parts .. Honda Automotive Parts

Rear shock and associated parts ..Honda Automotive Parts

And any other part for your car .. Honda Automotive Parts

.. with a few hundred dollars you can buy all the rubber bushings you desire ..

^ thats what I used to say, but little did I know .. OEM parts quality can not be beat, unless you spend double and get aftermarket that exceed OEM quality, which is a rare bird.
