4thgen power steering delete..twoke chime in plz

Hey...ok so i been trying to figure this out for the past couple days. i started to do the delete and noticed that there is another line that goes to the driver side of the steering rack from the passenger side. im at work and cant take a pic atm but will do so later. my question is does that line also need to be capped? in the diy write-up it doesnt mention anything about this 3rd line i see.

There is actually 4 lines. Hi-pressure, Lo-pressure, and feed and return lines for the VSS on the tranny. And to answer your question, Yes. They all need to be looped. The hi and low together, and the return and feed lines together. You also need to loop the VSS.

Fml. I can do the feed and return lines now but the pressure lines and VSS gotta wait due to the fact that the motor is out and can't distinguish which is which. Unnnnnnnless u have pics of the other lines that need to be looped? How do I loop the VSS

Here is what your finished rack should look like:

Looping the VSS is just as simple as it sounds lol:

Like so:

You just loop the two lines shown together, nothing to it.

Re: 4thgen power steering delete..twoke chime in plz

Where were all these pics when I did my delete? lol

Just make sure you get all the PS lines out before you put the motor back in. It is a bitch getting a few of them out with the motor in.

Re: 4thgen power steering delete..twoke chime in plz

Yeah with the 5th gens there is just two lines, but I did mine with the engine in, and I ended up leaving behind 3 lines because there is a bracket that is under the IM that is holding the 3 lines down, and I couldn't reach it :/ So I just cut those lines off as far down as I could and tucked em away :( I will get to them eventually. Lol.

Re: 4thgen power steering delete..twoke chime in plz

Here are some walkthroughs that I used when removing mine:

General walk through:

HOW TO: Remove Power Steering and Loop the lines - Honda-Tech

How to: power steering to manual - Honda-Tech

Prelude Power Steering Removal - Updated 11th Feb 2010

I'm trying to remove my power steering from my 98 ex civic...need help - Honda-Tech

4th gen looped power steering lines.

Taking off power steering

So I had some what of an Idea of what to buy if I wanted a breather:

PS Removal Kit Ready - Honda-Tech

Another alternative to the removal, but I never tried it lol:

Power Steering Relocation - Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com

Hope that stuff helps.
