You could get a lot things, it just really depends on what you want. Suspension would be a great upgrade.

The intake is the only thing on the list that's going to improve the car.

Nah, HIDs are 45hp tops. You do get an extra few HP for putting them in RHD Halogen housings though.

When is everyone going to realize that power doesn't come cheap on H-series motors?

These aren't Evo's or STi's where you can gain 25 horses with a drop in filter. If you want cheap power, go buy a Chevy or a Ford, I don't really care, it's just that all the sarcastic bull**** is starting to get annoying.

Nobody said that cheap bolt-ons are gonna transform an H-motor into a whole new beast. Every little bit counts though.

And what sarcastic bull****? Clowning on HID kits and "JDM" housings with acrylic (see: Inferior) lenses?

That's what I'm getting at. And the comment about "People wanting a CAI makes me laugh" was what set me off. Sorry if I seem a little ill tempered, I just found out I'm getting NO money from my insurance company for my car. Rad huh?

But as far as intakes go....seriously...what is an engine but a giant air pump? The more air you can bring in, the better it will perform. Thus, a better flowing intake is a necessity if you're going for improved performance.

P.S. - **** Evo owners and their 22 HP+ drop in filters. lol

Re: Mods?

Haha my bad... But still the CAI wont do ****... Unless you force air in the motor with a new intake manifold and a tune. But Im sure you know that already.. The thing that annoys me is when someone says "hey what should I do to my car" And people are like "Dude, first thing you ever do to a car. intake!!! duhhhhhzzzq!"

They just say it like its an important thing to do to get your car running like a champ. The HID was just an add on joke...

Re: Mods?

But also if power is so hard to get. (which it is on any honda motor besides the k20 it seems) Then just do suspension work and wheels. Then just rock the hell out of that.

Re: Mods?

With a good intake, a good header (RMF, SMSP, HyTech, Bisi), and a free flowing exhaust, you could probably expect to see gains around ~25 horses (With a tune, obviously). If you cheap out and buy a ****ty DC/Megan header, you're not gonna see ****. "You get what you pay for." At least we can agree that these aren't Vettes where you can grab 40 horses by removing a ****ing ash tray. Ugh. I'm almost glad my Lude is dead. lol.

Re: Mods?

dude. paint your stock wheels.
im 17 and did it one weeksnd. it cost me about 10 bucks for the paint and i just did them all black with a red lip and i painted the "H" on the center cap red too. the next week i got so many comments on how the car looked soo much better. my advice is just to get it running good, paint some stuff and just save and lower it.
BTW i have a AEM V2 ram air intake for sale if you want it. just PM me.

The DC header with the 2.5" collector (HHC5029) isn't too bad.

Re: Mods?

The 2.5" collector mod will help regardless of what header/exhaust setup you have. Honestly I would stay away from DC headers for H-series motors... If you look around you can find graphs where people actually lost power with them when compared to an OEM exhaust manifold.

So I'm sitting here, and it really pains me to think about how much time, sweat, and blood I've put into not just my car, but into learning everything about the Prelude platform, and it's all for naught. Ick. I gotta stay away from this forum. lol

im sorry but u guys are douche bags .. first of all he never said he wanted performance parts in his post and second hes only 17 living in the us which is still in a **** whole money wise which is y i gave him the mods i listed, no sh*t a cai dnt give him 40 +hp but he probably dnt have much money to make his car fast right away... so a cai and hids are always a good choice when starting modding

I don't think you're a douchebag

I understand where you're coming from, really I do... but I was 17 once, as we all were. We just wanted our cars to look cool and feel fast. An intake "feels" fast.

However, wheels and suspension are DEFINITELY a big improvement on a Prelude. I gotta post a pic of my new (old) wheels and what a difference it made, visually of course.

...and everyone here already knows my stance on HID kits...
