JDM Red Top H22A

I just wonder whether the JDM red top H22A was built since 1994. As I have just mounted a red top H22A to my 95 prelude, I am afraid the seller has changed the valve top from a black to a red. The manufacture year is 12/94 and the tranny code is M2A4 w/o LSD. Could anybody tell me whether there was red top H22A built in 1994......thanks for your reply

That is a tricky one. If you look at specifics, the MAP sensor is on top of the throttle body (a 96+ modification I believe), the power steering pump seems smaller than the 91-96 version but the pic is too small to really tell. The distributor however seems OBD1, it has two plugs.

So it may be a Black top sprayed red, need more pics. Could always just take off the valve cover and check the color of the cams, blueish means type S head!
