engine stopper... useless or not???

I recently took off the engine stopper (looks like an engine mount, located between the radiator and engine directly in front of the block) b/c my new half size rad made the fan hit that "stopper". If you're not sure what I'm talking about go to Honda Parts | Acura Parts | OEM Automotive Parts and Accessories and it will show you a digram of it. You will have to put the make, yr (93), model (s) in. It's under "body/air conditioning", then "engine mount". Its #4 and #8. Anybody know if that's a major part that DOESNT need to be taken out or is it OK leaving it out?

Any advice would help. Thanks

lmfao that doesn't "look" like an engine mount, that IS your front engine mount!

get a new FAL slim fan, problem solved. that way your entire engine is properly supported.

Re: engine stopper... useless or not???

I simply cut some of the housing off the radiator fan. The fan blades never contacted the mount just the housing

Well, I've NEVER heard of 4 engine mounts and I'v seen guys with it off but they may have replaced their engine mounts. Mine are not in too good a shape so I guess I'll put it back on lol. I'll have to buy a new slim fan too. I trimmed the housing and part of the fan blades but it still hit. Need a fan that actually fits the half size rad lol.

T1 told me that it would be ok to keep it out if you got solid motor mounts. Makes since. Don't plan on that anytime soon. I'm waiting on the slim fan right now to throw it back in there
