95 si brake problems

If im at a stop, the brake slowly goes to the floor and I have to pump it to get it back. I'm pretty sure its the brake mast cylinder, but I notice alittle bit of fluid from the abs reservoir. Would any leaks in that cause this problem as well?

Re: 95 si brake problems

yes, any leak will cause that. i would fix the leak ASAP! If it still does it, then obviously you will have to look deeper. also if it is leaking, that means air is getting into your brake lines, meaning you SHOULD bleed them when you fix the leak! hope you get it fixed soon, brakes are not something to mess with!

I don't see any loss of fluid in the clutch master cylinder? Is it possible for it to be bad without losing any fluid?

Re: 95 si brake problems

I agree with kyleb115 you should make sure there's no leaks anywhere, then you should check around the bottom of the brake booster and see if its wet with brake fluid that is a tell sign that the master brake cylinder is leaking, also check the bottom of the master cylinder bottle were it has a clamp, it sometime could get loose with time .Hope this helps

clutch MC?? you mean brake MC?
if you have a leak thats causing the brake pedal to get soft, your most likely loosing fluid from the brake MC/reservoir. you should keep checking that to see if its loosing fluid.

Re: 95 si brake problems

It could be a leak but I've had the same problem in both my 4g's and replacing the brake MC fixed the problem.

Re: 95 si brake problems

Mine does the same thing thought it was the MC too so I replaced it still fades to the floor. I'm losing fluid out the top of the ABS res. I also have a ABS light but I'm pretty sure that's because of a speed sensor as it comes on shortly after the car starts moving.
