Icon14 First Car, 93 Honda Prelude advice!

So i'm 15 years old and just got my learners, we've been looking for a car to practice with and hopefully keep in good shape until im 16. My neighbours are selling a great 1993 Prelude for 2000, but it has 293,000 km on it. Im wondering if it would be worth the buy considering the mileage, or if id be better off finding something else. Any tips would be greatly appreicated!

obviously the engine has been reliable if it has that much miles, i would determine the price on the body of the car and the interior.

i payed 2000 for a 93 lude and it had like 250,000 on the car but 150,000 on the engine in my opinion it was a good deal but if i runs right but may need a little work u should be able to talk them down a couple hundred

dont bay a car from your neighbor. if something goes wrong with it than your gonna end up blaming your neighbor for selling you a faulty car,a then theres gonna be all sorts of problems there.

Re: First Car, 93 Honda Prelude advice!

post some pics and we'll give you the correct opinion. as long as it wasnt a beater car then it should be a good one to start with. and just ask about maintenance and that should give you an idea. there is always carfax too!!

293,000kms is 182,000 miles. And 2000 is probably not USD

Re: First Car, 93 Honda Prelude advice!

Agreed, you have to drive an absolute PILE for your first car, so that way once you get yourself a nice car, you will appreciate it and treat it right. My first car was a 2001 Ford Windstar Mini Van (I have no idea why my parents gave me that, the seats in the back folded down to make a bed, maybe they were just tired of hearing me humping in the house? LOL) But after that minivan I had my teggy which I loved to death, and then now I have my lude. This lude may be too nice to be a first car, let's get some pictures !!
