camber kit?

I am going to be installing tokico blues struts and shocks and was wondering if I need to install a front and rear camber kit or just the front kit? there is a huge difference in price and I'm pretty sure I need to have at least the front kit. Any advice?

Re: camber kit?

Install the suspension and see if you need one. Get a four wheel alignment done at a reputable shop (preferably not one that is attached to a tyre retailer) and only then if your camber is out, purchase camber kit(s) as required. You may find that you don't need one.

Re: camber kit?

If you're just changing the shocks and not the springs, you're not changing the suspension geometry at all -- no need for a camber kit. If you are changing the springs, make sure your toe is aligned to zero -- much of the time, wear on lowered cars results more from misaligned toe than from the increase in negative camber.

FWIW...a MacPherson (front) or Chapman (rear) strut is a type of shock/spring assembly, so if you're replacing struts, you're automatically replacing the shocks. To be really technically correct, though, no Prelude has had a strut suspension since 1987 -- 1st gens were struts all around, 2d gens had Chapman struts in the back. It's been uneven upper and lower wishbones with coaxial shocks and coil springs on all corners from the 3d gen on.

Re: camber kit?

I put tokico blues in ~ 3 months ago. My alignment stayed PERFECT. I just did a visual check of my tires a few days ago and all tire wear is still nominal. My advice is to install, see how the alignment feels, then keep an eye on your tread for a couple of months. If you are paranoid an alignment can never hurt though, and I do plan to get an alignment done in the next 3 months just to be sure as well.

Re: camber kit?

i had tokico blues way back in the day. my alignment didn't hardly move. both camber and toe were still within spec.
