knock sensor jimmy rig?

Can I take a KS and find a nut that fits it and epoxy it to my block? THe reason I want to do this is because I put an H23 head on an F22 block and the h23 harness has a knock sensor but the F22 does not have a place for one.

Ive done alot of research on bypassing it but I was curious if this would work

Sooo I take it you got a new distributor and that didn't help?

Re: knock sensor jimmy rig?

I couldnt find one bro. But... I found out that the guts of the accord one and the lude are the same. So I swapped the shells. The guts of the accord one are really smooth and clean. I just got back inside from putting it on and I noticed that the coil plug wasnt there on the f22 distributor? Does that mean it has an interior coil? what do I do now? swap out the coil parts to make it exterior coil? I think I can do that pretty easily.

and for the KS. I was just tryin to figure out ways to get it on there cuz I need it at some point to get it out of limp mode. I researched a resonator hack for the ecu but Nevin suggested that I just use a nut and epoxy it to the block.

Yeah, one is external and one is internal I believe, not sure if you can actually modify an internal to be external (or vice versa) though.

Are you getting spark with the new distributor?

Re: knock sensor jimmy rig?

i just did some research and found this...external coil to internal coil - Honda-Tech

but that is doing the oposite of what I need. they are going from external to internal. I need to make my dizzy have a place for my external coil right? Or can I bypass my external coil and just use my internal one?

And I havnt gotten to try and see if theres spark because I havnt hooked up the dizzy due to this fact lol

Re: knock sensor jimmy rig?

Looks like you just need to swap all the parts from your working distributor into the housing for the other one, then run the wire that they talked about in that thread.

Re: knock sensor jimmy rig?

i already have everything swapped. Idk what wire they are talking about but in the pic it just looks like they jumped the connector with a 30 amp fuse. I just went out and did that. So right now I have the f22 distributor parts in the H23 dizzy housing and all the wires but the exterior coil hooked up and the wire harness conncetor that goes to the exterior dizzy has a fuse in it.... sound good? I am waiting to try her out when I get the ok from you bro lol

Lol. k, just making sure. Hope everything works out man. As long as you get the motor to fire and start, I'm sure you'll be able to find a work around for the knock sensor.
