H22a1 vs F20C

I don't know much, but i do know a few specs about the engines and plan to look into them more, but i just wanted to get some feedback on which would be better to swap into a 96 prelude si? Im currently running an h23a1 and trying to determine what i want to swap. I still have a long way to go though and a lot to learn.

Re: H22a1 vs F20C

f20C is the s2k engine right? if you got the money, hell, go for it. the only tranny that bolts up to it is a RWD tranny. which will not work in a fwd configuration. you'll need to make some custom mounts. um... i'm sure there is more. stick with the h22a, 1, or 4.

Re: H22a1 vs F20C

Still, it's not a fair comparison. The simplest swap would be a H22 (which has possibly the most torque per capacity of any engine available). The F20B revs higher but doesn't produce as much torque.

Re: H22a1 vs F20C

F20C but its just not practical. If you are talking bout an F20B I don't think it has VTEC (confirmation needed). The H22 is prolly your best bet.

Re: H22a1 vs F20C

So.... what... 2 more peak hp, and 13 ft/lbs less torque? Although, the F is probably more boost friendly.

Not that one, unless you get some low compression pistons.

Re: H22a1 vs F20C

Seriously, how much are you going to save with the f20?? You can get ALL the parts you'll ever need for the H22A, cause it was actually sold in the US, at your local parts store. Perfomance parts for the f20 are harder to come by as well............no brainer? Look up f20 header on ebay see what you find, now look up h22a header......any questions?

Re: H22a1 vs F20C

H22a7 from the Euro Accord R, since we are talking about hypothetical setups

And that isn't true at all. Compression has nothing to do with how reliable a setup is, its just the higher your compression is, the less room for error you have. It is all in the tune, and then tuners capabilities. A lot of guys on team-integra.net run 12.5:1 compression ratio's with boost setups.
