heating prob

i have a 93 prelude si been driving it for awhile but recently my car start to
over heat after i drive it for awhile or i stop at a red light for a min or so the bar temp raises. i thought it might be the thermostat so i swap it but the car still over heats. the radiator still new no leaks with coolant water at a proper level and also the reserve tank is also at max. i think it may be the fan but no sure. due to the fact the fan does spin at times when it start to over heat but most of the time it just dosent spin.
also my sunroof has been not working properly i try to open it and it seem jam or something. i have to help push it up for it to open.
my gas dash light dosent also pop up when im out of gas any solution to that also?
and the last thing is my brake lamp light is on but when i check all my brake lights there all working fine and the fluid level is fine. i did a brake fluid flush to to see that would solve the prob but it didnt any advice?

Re: heating prob

LOL i have atleast... 3/5 problems.

the bar temp raises at idle? because thats when my temp raises but only on weekends it over heats. lol. because mine does raise at idle but when driving it cools down. til like 3 bars, usually it stays on 3 bars on weekdays. and the sunroof thing, mine does the same thing. it might be the bars its on or an electrical shortage. and the gas thing, I have no idea, I dont really care about it, mine doesnt do it. I just go ahead and put gas when im at 2 bars. maybe for the brake u can see if any code is throwing out.

Re: heating prob

For your brake lamp did you check the third brake light? Also if all the bulbs are lighting up make sure they are the right one's. In my old lude i had the same problem. All my lights worked fine but it turned out one of the bulbs was not the correct one.

Re: heating prob

Moonroof Issues

Overheating...What's your coolant to water ratio? Don't forget that coolant raises the boiling point of water so if your mixture is too high, that's often an overlooked cause.

Also make sure your upper and lower radiator hoses have no crimps or kinks in them that can cause flow restriction. If you say you have a new radiator, chances are you have new hoses, and if the hoses weren't cut to the proper length, it can cause them to get a little squished in tight spaces.

Re: heating prob

sounds like you got some electrical issues. does your fan kick on?

if not, that would be the problem. the fan really only helps at idle, where there is no wind transferring the heat away from the radiator.

If many systems are out at once, usually a bad ground.

Re: heating prob

reguarding your gas light it's not the most acurate gas light. For example for mine to come on MY car has to be at super empty. for example: I'm driving i have one bar left, then it goes to 0 bars for a bit then it will return to one bar and the gas light will slowly come on not to bright and then as you keep driving it will turn off again then hit 0 bars and then come on and stay on bright. That usually how my gas light works. I Don't know if your preludes will be the same but give that a try lol if not maybe the bulb is just burnt out.

Re: heating prob

okay first of all heating problem the fan works only sometime and all the holes is fine no leak or any kinks and etc.. thermostat brand new so shouldn't be an issue there coolant in the reserve and tank. im thinking its the fan switch.
as for the brake lamp all the light works fine check all the bulb seem to be correct and fluid at a perfect level. im guessing its the wire that connected to the fluid cap that causing some miss malfunction.
sunroof the bar it cleaned and fine im guessing electrical shortage. and the gas light no light pop up even when it like no bar of gas left. bulb problem? maybe it so how would i change that?
