100w 6000k lights, Will they melt my headlight lense?

Just got these 100w 6000k lights, they feel hot, but then again i have never felt or payed much attention to my old ones. Anything I should watch out for? Thanks, just don't wanna mess up my prelude.

But I bet they're 35 or 55 watt. I've never seen a 100 watt setup. Are you sure they're just not "100 watt equivalent?"

Re: 100w 6000k lights, Will they melt my headlight lense?

you probably bought it from ebay which is not actually a hid kit but just a regular bulb so in this case i would worry about the wire melting not the headlight

i was using one before for my lowbeam but as soon as my mechanic told me that it might melt the wires i switched to highbeam because i dont use it frequently then i bought a hid kit on ddmtuning.

On my Xterra, 100w regular H3 bulbs melted and warped my fog light lenses

WIN = Opposite of FAIL

100w will not only melt your wiring, it will warp your hood

Bad idea. Won't melt your lenses though (with USDM headlights) cause they're glass. It'll melt everything else though.

Re: 100w 6000k lights, Will they melt my headlight lense?

my instructor just talk about that.lol
your gonna melt that for sure
its not even legal to surpass your city or states law regarding those
like in here the maximum for high is 55w 44w for low.
you get Vehicle inspection forsure
and if some thing does **** up goodluck trying to do a claim bc they will know forsure how that **** happen. a 55w/44w will never melt anything
