My first Prelude Vtec brought cheep, Any feedback would be appreciated

Hi all this is my first Honda Prelude it is a JDM Vtec 4ws model, I paid 300 ($436 US) for it with 133.000km on the clock and 3 months T+T. I have been a CRX owner for the last 4yrs but the old girl needs some attention so is off the road, I missed having a honda and this came up for the right price so i brought it. The interior is spotless and i don't think the back seat have ever been sat in. Everything works as it should (Except stereo). The exterior has some carpark dents but nothing major and NO RUST, which is nice to see. Any ideas with tuning and exterior parts would be helpfull. Thanks for Looking.

Re: My first Prelude Vtec brought cheep, Any feedback would be appreciated

!st off awesome find man. Hell of a price too. thats like $800 American right? As far as mods go i would reccomend a front lip (i like the spoon) and accord sides/rear. Rims are personal choice as to style n size. Wouldnt go over 17'' tho. Also have to agree w/a drop. somewhere around 2'' give or take a bit w/ur style. Interior looks flawless. I would leave it if it were me. A shift knob would be tight tho. A head unit and maybe the EL Gauge Swap. Also 95-96 console conversion. other then that id leave it alone if it were mine. Engine wise NA is bad ass but crazy expensive. Boost is cheaper lol but has it pros/cons. Nitrous is always an option too. Research is key. Its all about what u wanna do. Nice car tho man. super clean good find

Re: My first Prelude Vtec brought cheep, Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks everyone, I didn't realise some of those parts are rare finds. The price i paid 300 UK = $436 US. The Gathers headunit had previously been swapped out but luckily put back in before sale. only problem is somone cut a few wires so today i will be soldering and re fitting the original headunit. Does anybody know what the speaker system might sound like its an 8 speaker system which include the Centre speaker, Sub and amp i belive.??

Re: My first Prelude Vtec brought cheep, Any feedback would be appreciated

I can't tell you how the stock system sounds, mine was all aftermarket when I got it. And I thought there were only 7 speakers? 2 in the doors, 2 tweeters, 1 in the back seats, and 2 in the rear deck. Unless you have a sub in the trunk. I don't run any of the rear speakers, I just have 2 Infinity Reference series components in the doors, 2 Infinity Reference series Tweeters, and a 12" Infinity Reference series sub. It sounds great though. The rear speakers aren't necessary if you set up your system right. I'm sure Renee will chime in here sometime today and give her input.

Re: My first Prelude Vtec brought cheep, Any feedback would be appreciated

Deff has 8 speaker Gathers system, I have all the speakers you mentioned plus a Gathers centre speaker on dash (See Pics), Would like to keep it stock really, just wondered how it will all sound. Sorted wiring today but only get white noise from Gathers headunit on Cd/Tuner/ and Tape deck.??? Gonna try Kenwood headunit tomorrow. Tested all speakers are they are working.

Re: My first Prelude Vtec brought cheep, Any feedback would be appreciated

GREAT DEAL. Man I wish i could find one that clean for that cheap. you drop like ($1000 Us) and you'll have a sick prelude.. keep the pic's comeing and if you need any parts check Ebay they have great deals and just make sure the seller is a top rated one and you'll be in good shape.. I'd leave the body like it is cause the stock look is nice when you put coilover on it, and than just trick out the motor and get a nice new all alluminum radiator and whatever else you like, but Ebay is a great place,, check radiator classic's they have the radiators for ($100 us) plus shipping and they are soo nice and really make a big diff and look super nice also maybe some hood dampeners they also look nice. than just pay to have it all tuned and a new timeing belt and seals and your going to be happy for a long time,, welcome to the club man..( like the mafia, your in for life and only get out when you die).lol
