Speed limiter / Ebay chip?

Hi to all .

I know this thread for speed limiters has been more than annoying, but I still can't find any solution ( without buying USDM p13 or p28 ).

So I have swaped 2.2Vtec H22A ( JDM ) , OBD1 p13 ( it was from auto , then chipped to manual transmission ) , so I would like to know If I buy this Spoon JDM P13 ECU Chip H22A: eBay Motors (item 160103646676 end time Jun-18-10 1058 PDT) will I get the solution ?

I know for phearable.net so any suggestions about them are useless ( I have already contacted them ).

Will this chip harm my ECU,car or something ? Is it easy to install?

If someone know a little bit more , the help will be highly appreciated !

Cheers !

Re: Speed limiter / Ebay chip?

stay away from that BS. even if it actually did what it claimed to do perfectly, you have no use for an 8500 redline. considering it would blow youre engine and h22's dont make power over like 7600 or something anyway. the line that really made it awesome was;
"Perfect for those of you with a H22A DOHC VTEC setup. Tested in a Civic with H22A, WOW! Pulls HARD, right to redline. This is better than spending huge $$ on an actual SPOON ECU to run you motor."

Re: Speed limiter / Ebay chip?

Personally I wouldn't buy it. But bay is a good site for some things. Check the sellers ratings.

Re: Speed limiter / Ebay chip?

..."Knock sensor & Vtec speed limit disabled." ... from phearable.net . Ok so I can't understand , why did they removes the knock sensor? Isn't it bad to go without it? As far as I know the knock sensor protects your engine from bad fuel. And what is this Vtec speed limit? The speed governor is another option so I can't understand what is it.
"2 step (launch control)" One more that I haven't any idea what is it.

If you're taking modifications on your car this far, you probably should know better than to put ****ty fuel in it anyways. On top of that, once you start changing things in your motor (more specifically, valvetrain parts), the knock sensor can hinder and hurt performance. The way a knock sensor works is, once it hears a specific frequency associated with knock, it retards timing to save the motor (hindering performance as well). Once you start changing the internals of a motor, new parts might generate sounds at the right frequency to trigger the knock sensor, which will in turn retard timing and hurt performance all because of a false alarm.
