SORRY! POSTED IT IN THE WRONG SECTION EARLIER.

hey guys, i was thinking of getting a 4th gen and came across this one

1993 Honda Prelude Coupe (2 door) - Calgary Cars For Sale - Kijiji Calgary

i was just wondering if thats a reasonable price, and seeing as its a swapped motor, if theres anything in particular that i should be asking about.

thanks

seems a little over priced especially because it needs body work.. and has rust on it.. thats a pain and very expensive to fix and paint.. 2000 would be more reasonable.

If you were up to it... you could check the engine code on the engine and make sure that it is really an H22. My friend bought an engine from a guy who secretly grinded the engine block code off and used epoxy to put the code of a far more expensive engine on it. My friend didn't think to check if the code was real at the time, untill he noticed about a week later that there was epoxy residue around it. Although I don't usually recommend that people buy cars that have swapped engines (simply because of the lack of skill of the many people who attempt to do them, which lead to more problems down the road for you to have to work through) It is completly up to you. If the price is in your range and the car doesn't look like a POS inside and out (which it doesn't really in the pic) then... after reading some other replys (hopefully I'm not the last) make your final decision.

Looks decent, but the body cuts the value of it hardcore. I'd say it's worth paying half their asking price. Much more than that and the money needed to be put in to make it right just outweighs weighting and buying one without those problems.

obd2 is the type of emissions control system it has on it. Anything made after 1996 is OBD2.

OBD2 is a bit more difficult when it comes to tuning it, many people prefer obd1(or simply obd) for it's bit more simplistic nature. There are others on this site far more knowledgeable then I on this topic.

stay away from it. just the rust repair will cost thousands more to fix. find a diff car if you dont want to sink a fortune into it
