exhaust opinions, please.

Hey guys!

Been a while since my last post. I just got back from a dyno tune and found that I'm restricted both on intake and exhaust. I've got the 3" intake figured out; however if anyone could offer their experience or opinions, good or bad, on which your favorite/least favorite exhaust set-ups are, I sure would appreciate it. I'm looking for any and all opinions from header to tip. So far, considering something like a DC sports, or Greddy header, 2 3/4" pipe, with high-flow cat, and 2 Magnaflow resonators. Any criticism or opinions on my the afore mentioned set-up are also welcome.

Thanks everyone.

Re: exhaust opinions, please.

oh man, when i read the title, i was like going to say " RESEARCH RESEARCH" usually posts like these im happy with :3
I have 3 inch piping and high flow cat x2 actually.. so basically my exhaust is a welded pipe straight through from head to toe. I have no idea about headers, but I always heard DC headers are pretty bomb. but i heard, hy tech replicas? or tri tech? ( correct if im wrong)is 10 15whp at dyno tune.

Re: exhaust opinions, please.

LOL! Yeah, I try to ask informed questions. Hytech (with tri-y design), makes 3 versions that will fit the H22, and they claim 18-20whp gain. I do know Jei, at BlackTrax, was confident that just by deleting the cat, or switching to a high-flow, combined with adding 3" intake, I should be picking up another 15whp. I figure I may as well do the entire system. Currently my 02 sensor is too close for comfort to my rear crossmember, I'm already on my second one! I'm also going to start looking at cams. I was informed that between the intake/exhaust and picking the right cam, I should be putting down, conservative estimate, 190-195whp ! I am in California tho, so I do have to consider my noise level. The popo here have a hard-on for anyone who looks or sounds to be driving a modded vehicle. How do you like your set-up? is it loud? Thanks for the reply bro!

DC headers are **** for the H22. HyTech (replica), SMSP, RMF, Bisimoto, and a few others I can't remember are your best options. The HyTech Replica's are pretty easy to track down, and you can get the Bisi header straight from Bisi's shop. the SMSP and RMF are extremely hard to track down though. Everyone seems to be jumping on the HyTech replica, and they seem happy with it.

DC Headers may do well on other motors such as the B-Series, but they suck dick when it comes to making power on an H. The Bisimoto header is available directly through them I believe. If it's not on the site, give them a call. I know they are currently trying to organize a group-buy for them over on H-T.

They do not make intake manifolds for the H. However they are a distributor for Kinsler ITB's.

Re: exhaust opinions, please.

The dude over on PreludePower.com has a thread dedicated to the sales of the Hytech header. I signed up for an account over there awhile back and got to talking with him..they're going for $320 right now (PreludePower pricing)..$500 if you buy them through other means.

The HyTech replica is the **** apparently lol. If I wasn't going turbo down the road, I'd probably grab one.
