you should tell your mechanic to stop throwing parts at the problem.

have you checked the map sensor? did you change that over with the new engine as well?

also, is it throwing any codes whatsoever?

i did the h22a4 swap and had to change over ecu's because mine (and your h23 ecu) doesn't support vtec. i personally have never tried to run a h22 with a h23 stock ecu, but common sense dictates that it wouldn't work all to well.

i would also check the wiring. when converting to h22, there are specific things that need to be changed over.

unrelated note: please turn off caps lock, my eyes are bleeding :)

Re: FROM NOT STARTING TO NOT PASSING 2500RPM TO NEEDING A NEW ECU?? HELP

Sorry about the caps, its a habit but I forgot I wasn't writing on fb

As for checking the map sensor he hasn't mentioned that but I will throw it at him so I'm not sure if that was changed over with the swap

he told me the h23a1 actually has a part on the ecu where it supports vtec or something like that..but the thing is with the h23a1 vtec wasn't kicking in like it should but you can feel it kick in...but the main reason they used the stock is because they told me the h22a ecu wasn't working but when the car broke down i guess it works with the motor now

sorry about the caps to everyone else that reads this

Re: FROM NOT STARTING TO NOT PASSING 2500RPM TO NEEDING A NEW ECU?? HELP

I agree its has to obd-1 five speed ecu or a p13 or p 28 like was mention ,most of the time its distributor it carry the crank sensor in the inside along with cam timing sensor or reference sensor did your trouble shoot the distributor with a meter. One more important thing to check is to open the ecu look where the plugs connect and see if there's and burnt electronic like capacitor .or transistor ,that will give you a view if the ecu is working properly ,question did you have check engine light any code ,Try to borrow some one ecu but be careful not to burn it ,question did your mechanic buy a brand new distributor ? or was it from a junk yard ,or was if a rebuilt ,Be weary of rebuilds the don't work very well and some don't warrant that if some thing burns because of there product the are not liable , it happen to me from a known store auto zone ,and i it was friends car and he ended up buying one from a junk yard.I will Stop here for now .Later okay .
