Need help asap for engine swap

Alright i blew my engine and it was a H23A, not quite sure what that means.

I want a H22A vtech but my mechanic says i need to do a full swap for that engine, i wanted to know what u guys think since the difrence is like 1200$

Just H23A is like 999.00$ and the H22A is 2100.00$

But as far as i know the H22A is a much better engine then the H23A, is this even true?

So someone plz give me some advice i gotta get this car back on the road soon so i gotta order this engine even sooner lol :_)

thnx

Re: Need help asap for engine swap

no need to be sarcastic everyone on here is here to help.. but anyway the h22a1 or a4 are great engines.. the reason they are more expensive is because theyre vtec engines and theres also a higher demand for them because they put out more horsepower then h23's.. so whoever finds these motors sells them for higher prices because they know people want this engine not a cheap h23 or f20b or something.. if you want something similar to your engine now go with the h23 (and maybe you could go turbo) but if you want something with a little more power and vtec then go with the h22a.. its really up to you and what your willing to spend and what your need is.

I have H23 and H22A .. it is such a big difference ! If you can find well maintained H22A , I suggest you to buy it - worth every penny ( I got mine for about 300 pounds , with the car ) . So try to find some damaged car with H22A.

Re: Need help asap for engine swap

First of all you will not need to full swap so your mechanic is a ratard.

I don't care if your car is a manual or automatic you wouldn't need the full swap.

I am hoping that it is a manual though. All you need is the engine, exhaust manifold and downpipe, ecu, and some some wires ran from the ecu to the vtec solenoid.

The engine alone that Hmotorsonline sells is what you would need really they sell the downpipe for and extra $70 and they want $200 for a p13 ecu unless you think you can find one cheaper.

Re: Need help asap for engine swap

I got my H22a from hmotorsonline.com, I vouch them 100%, the guy I spoke with on the phone was incredibly nice. I almost got the TypeS motor for the same price as the basic h22a but he didnt have any in stock.

Re: Need help asap for engine swap

what part of your engine blew.., hell, if your bottom end is good...., slap an h22 head on it..... that would be easier than whole engine swap....

but if you threw a rod or something.... well just forget what I said then.. lol
