Re: speedo problem

Did someone change the overlays? HAve you taken the needles off? Otherwise your speed sensor could be F'd.

Re: speedo problem

I have a similar issue but not as dramatic. When I take off, my speedo doesn't move. After I hit about 15-20 MPH, then my speedo needle jumps up to my speed. My tach works fine though. It's weird, but I just chopped it up to some other problem I need to fix. Any thoughts? I think this is the problem the OP is experiencing, well, similar anyways.

Re: speedo problem

You jus might wanna check your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) to see if it's dirty or jus simply fukked up!!! Then you can buy one for under $20 and swap it.

Whenever your RPM and speedometer get jumpy it's usually a result of your VSS crapping out.

Re: speedo problem

Not thread jacking!

My Tach works fine, it's my speedo that jumps. I have been told to check out the VSS, but I have no clue how to check it.

Re: speedo problem

Google it!!! Dun mean to be an ass but searching always helps!!!

HINT: The VSS can be found btwn the upper left side of the motor and the firewall.

Basically where you see your oil cap...behind that part of the motor and a little further down somewhat near where your EGR valve is so to speak.

I have seen that photo before, but I still couldn't see it. I'm in the process of learning! I will go check again on a nice day. Thanks.
