question about the f22a1??

Ok so the im selling my 4th gen i have now and im looking at another that has an f22a1, now i know its only sohc and good for boosting but is that the reason why it only puts out 125-135 hp stock compared to my h23?

Re: question about the f22a1??

the lower amount of power is mostly attributed to it having an entire point lower in compression ratio.

Re: question about the f22a1??

Well, the main issue is that the f22a has only 8,8 compression, this is the main reason for the low hps. but thanks to this reason you can boost it without any internal change.

Re: question about the f22a1??

Alright thanks guys I want to get this lude so bad for $2300. The f22he said has 6k on the rebuild bored .30 over and the trans has 47k on it. but he said the receipts burned up in a house fire and he now moved and thats why he's selling it. I dont know whether to fully believe the rebuild, are there any ways i could go about checking and knowing whether or not it truly was rebuilt?

Re: question about the f22a1??

Lower compression and the fact that is a SOHC will be the reason it has a lower power figure than the H23A.

As for checking to see if the work has been done.... Compression test will atleast tell you if all is well cylinder wise, only other way is to remove the head and measure it.lol. As for the gearbox, no real way of knowing. Just check that it goes into all gears smoothly and gets into 5th gear without grinding at freeway speeds.

Sounds shady, make sure you thoroughly inspect it. I don't know about you guys, but all of my receipts are in a fireproof safe

Re: question about the f22a1??

In my case i have them in a safe but for another reason, i donīt want my wife finding them, jajajja

Make acompression test and look for oil leaks, if it is rebuilt there is no reason for leaks. Or find out the garage that mede the fix and visit them
