Swap Decision

okay i have a 95 lude f22a sohc.
this winter i wanted to park it and start mt build..
at first i wanted to do a g23 build and turbo
then i thought maybe f22b turbo would be easier
but alot of people are about h22a because its vtech
and i got to thinking ya i could sleeve an h22a or build a g22 but how much would vtech really be needed if your running a turbo set up??
thanks

Re: Swap Decision

vtec + turbo = good.
f22 is good for turbo
h22 is beastly with turbo, thats what I'm doing with stock internals. but, if you got the money, you should sleeve it, make a monster
its all up to you.

Re: Swap Decision

I don't recommend H22+turbo ... 200 h.p are enough .

Re: Swap Decision

Well you can HACK your ECU to do this ( vtec at 4000 or whatever ), but I really don't see any sense ... why? If you aren't going to race on every traffic light , it is just nothing more than burned money.
As far as I know .. Vtec is not very durable with turbo.
Somewhere someone has posted this " If your pocket isn't deep enough , don't do it" , or something like that.
So it may be amazing , but I do not want to spend too much money and I do not want to harm my H22

Re: Swap Decision

to be honest you both are right. but its all in what he wants out of his car. he just needs to realize that vtec+turbo is more costly and complicated and if he is gonna do it make sure its tuned very well. and that the vtec and turbo dont engage too closely (definately not the same time duh haha)
