i been having this problem since i bought the car. it loses power whenever the weather is hot or when the engine is warm. it also has idle problem the idle will drop like its almost stalling when i use any electrical in the car like opening a window or sunroof. i have replaced spark plug, wires, fuel filter. and also another thing is when the engine warms up the clutch engage point seems to get lower. no CEL. help please.

Re: prelude problem helpp

sounds like you need to check your ground wires... i bet your throttle cable is acting as your ground. when metal heats up its resistance increases. so it might run when its cold but as the car warms up the insufficient grounds starve the electrical systems of current due to increased resistance

Re: prelude problem helpp

just make sure you have the following three ground wires and that they are in good condition: battery to engine block, battery to radiator support (chassis), valve cover to chassis (near the belts on the car)

Re: prelude problem helpp

Have you change any fuses, relays in the BOX under the hood ?
I have made the same SWAP , I have this idle , but I know ... mine is from the knock sensor and one relay in the fuse box.

Re: prelude problem helpp

Well there are many possibilities. I have been told that I have to change one relay to solve this problem.I forgot the name , but I know it is on the bottom of the fuse box under the hood.
Mine looses power because of the knock sensor , but it is on the ECU ( code 23). The other code is 20. I can't be sure for your case , because you do not have any codes in your ECU light. It may be from the coil , but can't say at 100% sure .
