Need help with head... A cylinder head...

I have a 95 lude se and my number four cylinder is only getting 90 percent compression. Apparently I have a valve that is burnning I have a budget of around four to five hundred. Any ideas what I should do?

90% your still good for awhile. if your 4th cylinder is 90% of your highest cylinder, you still havea pretty lively motor.

now if its 90psi thats a different story. And you can get the head rebuilt by a cheap shop for prob 4-500 scooners. Or you could rebuild yourself with help from us and aftermarket parts for about the same.

And about enough spare parts to build 3 other trucks

Yeah I was looking around and one shop was asking 2-350 which is great. Normally I would do it myself however I don't know where I could go that would allow me to use their shop. The only head I have rebult was for a 454 gm motor and I dunno if that is going to put a damper on wiether or not I can do my lude head.

Dude before you tear the head apart though, what makes you think you need new valves? What was your PSI in all cylinders?

I'm not sure I took it in for a diagnostic and that's what the mechanic said in addition if you pull out the ignition wire for the number four cylinder it doesn't do anything.
