Need help ASAP w/ engine

So i just bought a 94 prelude fixxer upper. the body is real nice got it for a good price but the engine is shot to ****. i was wondering what is my best bet for a new engine,
2.2vtech or a 2.3

what has better performance? whats the HP on both?

the engine in the car right now isnt the origanal 2.3 it came with.

i know if i go to a 2.2vtech additional work will need to be done, is it worth it?

Re: Need help ASAP w/ engine

f22, h23, h22 will fit eaisly without any major midifications whatsoever. really the only difference will be the ECU will need to be changed out and one or 2 wires run. besides that its a direct swap..

F22 - 130hp
H23 - 160hp
h22VTEC - 200JDM, 190USDM

search, there are ALOT of topics about this, and even write ups on the swap!

Re: Need help ASAP w/ engine

It depends on your goals, really. The problem with the f20b is that compression is so high (11.0:1, seems it had to be tweaked to have sick output at 2.0l so it's not boost-friendly) and torque is lower than a h22. People dump tons of ****tons of money into their car to sqeeze out the extra horsepower and torque they can so don't grab this just because it's a bit cheaper. If no turbo grab a h22. If you're on a budget or want to turbo there's the f22b or build a frankenstein with a f-series block. The possibilities are literally endless! Read around here for threads posted about what others have done.

Re: Need help ASAP w/ engine

f22b FOR BOOST
h22 FOR STOCK!
H22 + BOOST = ORGASM.
