Bad Shaking Problem!

So ever since I got my car it would always do this really bad shake thing whenever i would brake. It is not that noticeable with city driving (about 25-35 MPH) but whenever i am going any faster then that and i brake my steering wheel shakes very violently, bout 70-80 MPH it feels like the car is just gonna fall apart. Also the brake pedal like has like a bouncing feeling the whole time I'm braking, like it feels like its moving up and down almost synchronized with the steering wheel shaking. You can't really tell unless you are driving it, if you are in the passenger seat you don't feel it at all. I replaced my front upper ball joints about a month ago and put new brake pads on but it didn't even put a damper on the problem. I am completely clueless on what to do does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Bad Shaking Problem!

Would the back rotors have anything to do with it?

yes back rotors can be warped too, BUT they wont make your steering wheel shake..

its your front rotors, guaranteed!

Re: Bad Shaking Problem!

Wouldn't hurt to get your tires balanced either. My wheel shakes a little above 50 MPH. I need an alignment and my tires balanced. So I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt.

Re: Bad Shaking Problem!

would cross drilled and slotted rotors really be worth buying right now? I mean i dont race or anything or have anything else like performance so would they be worth even getting just to get rid of the problem?

Re: Bad Shaking Problem!

Just get Brembo blanks with ceramic pads. You will have plenty of stopping power and save some money. Drilled and slotted rotors are for extreme braking conditions. Unless you're racing and you need good braking for corners, you will be fine with blanks.

Re: Bad Shaking Problem!

if they are warped then the lathe wont take that bend out of the rotor. drilled rotors crack easily if they are not warmed up properl. normal rotors are fine. if u want better performance then replace that rubber brake lines with stainless steel. they help so much and that will be paid for with the money u save. ebc pads have a lot of bite to em. how are the ball joints.

Re: Bad Shaking Problem!

I had the same problem so I replaced the front rotors with New Power Slots, the problem is still there... I thought it may b my struts, but that is very unlikely! Although my front tires are not bald but are a few yrs old, I will buy new tires soon, this may help! Any suggestions?
