I'm new to the prelude. I left the mustang ranks due to the gasoline price game and I'm tired of it. I've done engine swaps on stangs since the Fox body was introduced so I have wrenching skills. I have an F22A lude and was wondering if it's possible to just drop in an Acura LS motor from a 1990? If not, why not? If so, what will it take? This is an innocent question. So I'm not interested in immature disrespectful responses. Cheers!

Why would you want a b18 non vtec engine in your prelude? If you raelly wanted to swap an engine i would say just spend 1k and drop in an h22a and switch the ecu to a p28. Very easy and cheap. If you want to push bigger numbers then 205ish bhp with the h22a. Just boost ur f22 and do the basic up grades for a turbo set up.

it's possible but you would need special mounts and probably a harness too...stick it to the h and f series engines from 1992-2001

The f22a is a much better engine than the b18a or b18b. The head is one of the best flowing heads honda ever designed. You could boost an f22a and see a great HP number. In order to put a b series in one of our cars you would have to have 100% custom mounts because I do not believe anyone even makes them, specifically because it's a pointless swap.

If ur gonna swap in another engine other than an F or an H, get a K24. They make mounts for the K swap into a 4th gen.

I decided not to put it in the crx because of several reasons. I'm holding on to the engine for now unless someone wants it. If no one ends up wanting it then it might eventually end up in the Prelude just for daily driving and show off purposes. That would be a while from now though. So if you know anyone looking for one I have one. I'd rather see it put to use than sit in my garage till I decide to use it lol.
