car cnt get past warm up

ok so a few months back i switched over to mobil1 and had no problems. a few weeks ago i was running low on oil, i thought i was goin to engine swap soon so i just topped it off w sum penzoil, i drove it fine for 2weeks. and then lastnite before my trip i poured in even less penzoil like a half quart at the most. when i i was leaving it began to smell like burning oil and my oil light went on and the engine sounded different. i went out and got new mobil1 and did a quick oil change (no filter change) and it began to run even rougher. i have always had a moderate rough idle but now it is really bad. ive never solved this idle problem yet even w the final idle thread. my car can not get passed warming up with out dieing and the oil light is still on.

any suggestions????

right now im thinkn i should get oil flush and then replace the oil and oilfilter again but what about o2 sensors??? i mean ive always had rough idle, did i somehow finally kill off my o2 sensor?

Re: car cnt get past warm up

where is the oil going? if its leaking that fast you must be able to see it gushing out of the engine.

Re: car cnt get past warm up

might be your tps, or Iac but it doesnt explain oil loss, might be rear main seal, or oil filter o-ring, it's looseing oil pressure somehow, maybe re check all your seals and gaskets, or maybe vac leak??? im not sure , does the idle stumble or just rough

ok if the oil isn't on the floor is it somewhere else? are you just going by the light in the car saying you are low and then just put some in or are you actually using the dip stick? (sorry don't mean to be a jerk but the oil isn't just evaporating into thin air)

that would have been useful info in the first place -.-

Do check oil pressure sensor. I'd put money on it...

Re: car cnt get past warm up

ok sorry this thread was cluttered w info b4 i have since replaced the oil switch,re done its wiring, reset the ecu, put in new oil,new oil filter, and...the diagnosis is
-the oil light in my car is on still
-some clear liquid shoots out my exhaust
-fumes from exhaust are really strong and smells terrilble like when the dirty fedex truck pulls up at work

i still have a rough idle the rough idle has always been there, not shure if its a seprate problem or linked idk

my mechanic says i should hook up a oil pressure gauge n check waht it reads...prob do that 2maro

but he also said i s houldnt really drive it so my daily driver is down

Re: car cnt get past warm up

is there a cel? As in smells like a ups truck are you saying it smells like gas? How does it rev? If it revs does it rev past 5500? Is it knocking? Have you pulled any of the spark plugs out yet? If so what do they look like ( as in any old build up, really wet and smell like gas)?

UPDATE: yea smells gassy i thought it was gas shooting out the back at first. no knock. if i remember correctly it was reeving fine like it didnt struggle but my engine sounds entirely different, and now that i think about it it sounded different, idk how to explain my engine just doesnt sound the same now, i think its mechanical so that and the combo of my oil light still on im leaning towards ****ed up bearings. ive been working over time alot but nxt chance i get im gna
-check oil pressure
-check spark plugs
ill let yall know
