engine failure while sitting overnight?

Alright guys....i could use some help here cuz im at a loss. I drove home last night, was bein real nice lettin the car shift at around 2500 rpms, not hammering it or anything...nothing odd happened the whole way home, and i shut her off for the night. i got up in the morning and tried to start her up and every time id hear teh engine make a full rotation id hear something hitting something else in the engine...i got someone to turn the key for me while i was outside and it s loudest from the drives side rear of the engine....i cant help but feel like i snapped a rod somehow...while it sat over night....can anyone give me some idea of how in the HELL that would happen?

im gonna go out in a few and see if i can figure out what the hell the sound is...if anyone can give me any ideas on what it could be or maybe give me an idea of how sitting overnight would cause internal damage, that'd be amazing lol

Re: engine failure while sitting overnight?

well, i didnt get to do TOO much to it, but heres whats goin on so far, i pulled all my plugs, and the number 1 cylinder plug was just drenched, it looked like it was all gas and i cant smell anything else on it, i got a ratchet on the pulley bolt and turned the engine by hand and it feels like on every degree (maybe every 2 degrees, im not being real exact here) it feels like it "skips" but the engine wont turn unless it "skips" im not sure if thats normal or what that means....the tranny is in park so im not sure if that causes that or what, also everytime it does actually move it makes a "bloop" kind of sound. it moves the timing belt when i turn it so its not anything goin on with that, and all the pistons move, so i dont think a rod is broken.....any ideas?

put the tranny in neutral and take out ALL the plugs, not just one. then turn it over by hand.

Re: engine failure while sitting overnight?

all the plugs were out when i was turning the engine...ill put it in neutral tomorrow and see whats up. if that one cylinder was so flooded and couldnt fire would that cause the sound in that cylinder?
