Re: IAT sensor wires

pics of the wire? does it look like its supposed to be going to the IAT? or does it go somewhere else like the injectors, egr, etc etc.
i'm at school right now so i can't really check the helms manual at home.

most of the time the black is ground, but I don't think the iat has a ground.

You know what code you're pulling? Try resetting the ECU and see if it comes back. The IATs are know to go bad every once and a while. You can get a new one for ~15-30 at the honda stealership

i looked at the wires on the iat and they dont match the cut wires i saw

one was red/yellow and the wire was right below it under the car

hooked that up

i think im just going to buy an iat and see if that fixes my problem

Re: IAT sensor wires

I don't know what others will say about this but once you get the wiring fixed, and your not throwing a cel.

Remove the iat from your intake, than plug the hole. I removed mine, and my car runs much cooler, without it. Best mod I've done yet!

It tricks the ecu into thinking that the air being pulled into the intake is much cooler, so the engine runs more effecient. I'm going on 6.5k miles now (iat removed), and all is well. Oh, if you do DO this, don't forget to reset the ecu.

Code 10 is iat sensor troubles, and I've heard that its a very generic code. Replacing it may be the best.

I used an aluminum expansion plug from "lowes" you can also use any type of plug. You can get them at any local hardware store 50-75 cents, I think?

With mine, I removed the sensor, plugged the hole, and zip tied the sensor off to the side, to a vacuum line, that way there's no harm done to the sensor or intake.

If you want to replace it, just pull the plug, and re-install the sensor. But make sure that what plug you choose has a lip on the inside, so the intake doesn't suck it in. Hell, use a bolt. anything that can withstand high suction.
