Re: H22 HEAD ON A F22

its called a G22, and its a frankenstein motor. Meaning its a project you gotta piece together that doesn't really fit. I was looking into it when i first joined PZ. The head bolts up correctly, but one of the oil gally's has to be blocked off with honda-bond. Its really only worth it if your looking for a cheap boostable build that makes some power. It would be a nightmare to do. I have a few articles saved on my laptop of G22 messes. It makes roughly the same power as an H23, it just allows you to boost on a stock bottom end, and still have DOHC + VTEC.

If your looking to make more power right out of the gate, just H22 swap. If you have no money and are looking for a cheap boost build then by all means go G22. Just remember, they are unreliable and not done a whole hell of a lot. You really can't look to others for answers because its not anything thats common.

Thats my .02 on it. I thought about it alot, and decided its not for me. I've rebuilt a few motors before, and I still dont think I'm ready for a G22 build.

Re: H22 HEAD ON A F22

No problem. What kind of budget are you on? Maybe we can help you find a good budget build.
