Do VTEC ludes have bigger wheels?

Just wondering because if I get the bigger VTEC front rotors I want to make sure that the 15" si wheels will still fit. If they don't I will just get some drilled/slotted of the stock si diameter.

Re: Do VTEC ludes have bigger wheels?

the VTEC model 4th gens just have bigger rotors and calipers. Its like .5" bigger in overall diameter if I remember correctly
Wheel is still the same size. So ur si wheels will clear a vtec brake setup

Re: Do VTEC ludes have bigger wheels?

The only thing I had a problem with was the metal slash shield on the back oh the rotor was too small. Just bend it back a bit and it is fine.
Yes they will clear the 15s, the caliper comes very close to the wheel so, it is possible that a rock can get in there. It will have a lot of noise. I have not had this problem, just seen other cars with big brakes that just fit under the wheel have it.

You have to also get the VTEC calipers, the Si's calipers won't work with the VTEC rotors and visa versa.

It is a easy swap the only thing that didn't work was that the splash guards, just had to be bend them a little. Other than that it is a direct bolt on.
Torque the bolt correctly so they wont come off on you while your driving like mine did.

Re: Do VTEC ludes have bigger wheels?

I think it is just the caliper brackets that are different, I was under the impression that the calipers are actually the same and the pads actually go into the bracket so the pad size and caliper don't have anything to do with each other.

Re: Do VTEC ludes have bigger wheels?

You have to do a full brake conversion for it to work.
VTEC Rotors, caliper brackets, calipers, and pads must be changed.
The rears are the exact same so don't worry about them.

If you hold the two next to each other, there is a huge difference in them.

That sucks, guess I will wait awhile for that upgrade cause it looks like 160 bucks for the calipers with brackets.

It is already in the 4th gen resource guide.

Technically you can go even bigger with the stock calipers. Just have to buy the power slot plus Rotors kit. They up the disks from 11.1 to 12.2. You will have wheel fitment issues then.

From what I've read, it doesn't make too much of a difference. You'd have to change them out in a few years and unless they have a decent enough coating on them, they can get pretty worn or even rub. I think I'll stick to my OEM rubber lines. Eh, I probably won't even feel a difference from my Si's to VTEC's.

Then why not do a 5 lug swap at the same time?
