Re: Tuning my ecu

what computer are you using? is it socketed for a 28pin EPROM/EEPROM chip?

A couple hours tuning should be able to get you squared away with a good tuner.

Re: Tuning my ecu

i know some ppl can tune/socket the p13, but its hard drive is coded slightly differently than the other ECU's mentioned. The p28 is a sohc vtec civic ecu, then there's a p06 which is non-vtec, but can be converted to vtec, and the p72 is from the integra GSR, and has a knock board so ur knock sensor isn't useless, and it can control the IAB's in the intake manifold.

Cliff's notes:
-some ppl can tune and chip p13's
-most common ECU's to chip = p28, p06, p72

Re: Tuning my ecu

When i had my 91 Accord wit a JDM H22a i had the stock P13 ecu and it was alright until i got a P28 and sent it out to get chipped by JDMsh*t.com with there H22 program, I felt noticible diffence in powerband and Vtec was set at 4800, it was definetly better all around. It only cost me $125, this was almost 4 yrs ago tho. Check it out on JDMsh*t.com. I was Extremely happy with it.

Re: Tuning my ecu

I just looked at the site, and it seems like all the stuff that's on Ebay. Skunk2 and Spoon programs, vtec at 5500 on one of em, and a revlimiter that would blow most internally stock motors

This does look nice tho...

so you used the jdmsh** program, are the p28 vtec slots different than the p13? did the p28 cost you 125 or did the chipping cost that much?

Well you have to first get a P28 which you can find it around $80-$120, check some forums for them.......Then i sent it out to Jdmsh*t.com and they put the chip in and test it and send it back to you for the $125.00, oh by the way i only had I/H/E on my Acclude at the time and i was racing ITR's and cars around that level, and honestly the best race i had was against my boi's GSR eg hatch with bolt-ons........so the chip is not bad at all.

Yea, i dont trust ebay that much, but dont get me wrong they got some pretty decent parts for good prices, i just would not trust getting any chips from ebay unless i heard of the company. but other than that i can vouch for the chip from JDMsh*t.com, my car ran very good and no problems at all.
