Power Steering Problem

Sooo did some searching but all I could really find on PS was how to remove it.

So here in the midwest we got a surprise from mother nature in the form of -50*F weather. As you could imagine, it wreaked havoc on the cars around here. On occasion, when it's really cold, I'll start my car and I'll hear a whine-ish type sound coming from the PS pump/alternator area. Well the other day when it was -51*, I went out to start my car, and it started fine, and I figured the pump/alternator would whine for a few minutes like normal...well, after driving to wal-mart and back home, the whine never went away. I popped the hood and checked it out, and I had PS fluid in the engine bay all around the PS fluid reservoir. I couldn't see any visible leaks in the hoses/reservoir, but it's definitely leaking. It gets louder when you turn the wheel to the left/right or accelerate, or turn the headlights on (which is what leads me to believe it could also be the alternator, or both). There's no difference in drivability whatsoever, just the annoying whining noise. Anyone ever had this problem before? What should I check out first?

Thanks guys.

P.S. - On a side note, sorry I haven't been around as much (you guys are probably loving it haha), but I've been really busy with work/family lately, and I'm housesitting for my aunt and uncle and they won't let me use their computers. But anyways, I'm still here, don't worry.
