Re: What to add next

Hmmm that venom control module looks interested (just googled it, id never heard of it) did you notice a pretty good improvement?

sorry back to the question, (im not sure what your goals are, but what i would do is this)

1st)does your custom exhaust include a good header? if not i'd add that

i'd recommend a good set of cams, cam gears, pulleys maybe, a tune (dont know how that would work with the venom)
maybe these cams (http://www.crower.com/cgi-bin/detail...rod_id=62481-2)

um other than that, i'd say lighten up all the rotating parts, flywheel, aftermarket clutch, all that

but i dont really know very much, so i'd wait for someone else to tell you what to do

smaller diameter tires, if your car is stock and you have 55s, drop down to 50s or 45s

you really need to read what the OP said so you dont make a fool of yourself.
next time take the extra second it takes to read the whole thing and then say something.

another idea for faster acceleration would be a lighter set of wheels matched with smaller diameter tires. maybe even a test pipe to reduce air flow restriction. a flywheel? (well that will cost a pretty penny, labor for that is kinda pricey).

IF your lucky you can find a light weight fly wheel and stage 1 clutch combo cheap and if you can drop it in your self wont cost to much.

cheap is not reliable. dont be cheap and buy a cheap clutch, it will only hurt you on the long run (dont buy anything cheap/cheaply made period).

OP should clarify a budget in order to give better advice.
a cf hood is not gonna do chit, a COMBINATION of lightweight items and probably taking out useless stuff will help the acceleration. 20lbs is gonna help but not enough to be noticeable.

yep Cf if for look and ppl that need to shave a few 10th of a seconds off there time. I think ever 100lbs you loss you get 1/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile. Im sure with auto cross it would do a lot more good but for ever day life it just looks dame sexy.

Re: What to add next

True that, lightwieght all they way. How do you think those damn b18 hatches are so quick? its not the little bit of power, its cuz their so damn light!!! I got aem pullys on my car and i noticed a tad bit difference, not much, but ever so slightly noticable. Another thing people look over alot is basic maintenance (i know sounds dumb) but, just letting old oil sit in their or having half-ass spark plugs really kills performance.

Re: What to add next

Wow, glad we're back on topic now. Is there any other good advice other than what I said and the last post about maintenance. Weight reduction is a difficult thing to do if you still want a daily driver car. Do you know how much stuff you'd have to take out to reach 100lbs, and replacing body panels for carbon fiber isn't cheap.

Re: What to add next

Have you done any research on driving with an 8lb flywheel? If you live in a city...it won't be fun. The labor is more difficult if you don't have access to a lift, but it can still be done. Basically, you're going to have to drop the tranny, swap flywheels, rebolt tranny. Sounds simple, but can be a pain if you're only on jackstands. But like I said it's doable.

ya ive been reading what people on this site have to say about the 8lb, but i dont quite understand why it will be a pain, everyone seems to get used to it, not trying to sound like a smartass im actually asking why it would be a pain lol
