Icon5 SRS Light

Ever since I've had the car the SRS light has been on. I don't think it's ever been in an accident. How do I go about assessing the problem? I don't have hundreds to blow at the dealer. I am going to be swapping my cluster bulbs to LEDs in a few days. Are there any repercussions to simply pulling out the bulb?

Re: SRS Light

Happens to mine too but it comes on every now and then. I wouldnt pull the bulb. When the light is on Im pretty sure the airbags wont deploy because there is a problem. Id try to fix it.

Re: SRS Light

each air bag has a resistor and a certain resistance, every bag has a different resistance, the computer knows how much voltage should be received from each bag. if the computer does not receive the correct voltage (either too much or too little) at all times then it will set the light off. it could be a number of things, from a corroded wire to someone disconnected a wire or a short...

and no your airbags wont work if there is a fault in the system the computer shuts it off
