How do you check a broken lude?

So after seeing my car, my cousin wants to get one as his first car.

long story short, I found a 94 VTEC and in the description it says that the ran well until about 2 weeks ago when the clutch went out.

so how can you check if the car is good? its the perfect cover up since even if push in the clutch it won't start.

how can I see if the car is good, maybe even start it up some how?

thanks

get the person to sign off. saying if the engine doesn't work you get your money back. or something like that.

just have leverage when u buy it

or you can get him to fix the clutch and let him prove to you that it works them buy it from him and just pay him what he paid for the clutch

xshooterx is right. If they don't do it then you take a chance and get burned like I did. Chances are if they don't agree to fix it if you'll pay the additional cost after its done, then they're probaly lying. Or broke.

The car should start when ya push in the clutch even if it's bad i think.

Yeah unless the clutch has flown apart into a million pieces and is jammed up in between the flywheel and transmission it should start fine

If he is (or you are) really stuck on this car, once again, listen to xshooter. Tell him you'll pay him the cost of the clutch and install. Its the only way to know for sure. And since your cousin will need to get the clutch replaced anyway, he's paying the same thing.

As said before the car will still start. The clutch switch is on the pedal.
