ObdII and OdbI Question

This might have been answered, and probably has been answered at one point in time, but I can't find it.

What are the complications of having an obd1 93 prelude and putting in JUST an obd2 h22a4 block. The head, fuel injectors, distributor, wire harness, and ecu will still be obd1. Will there be a knock sensor problem? Or a crank angle sensor problem since I'll be using all the cam sensors and what not from my distributor? Basically, I'm thinking if I just leave the sensors on the oil pump unplugged then I shouldn't have a problem since I'll still be using those sensors from my distributor. I'm a little confused.

I tried wading through Blake's obd2-obd1 conversion on honda-tech (http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2226177), but it was a little different than what I'm doing...or trying to do.

I apologize for the ignorance here. Thanks for indulging.

Re: ObdII and OdbI Question

this is def a very confusing and overwhelming subject at first, with CKP, CYP, TDC, etc etc, but its not too hard once you grasp the idea of it. i spent a solid week researching how to drop the OBD2 F22 in my OBD1 car, then convert it BACK to OBD1 once i boosted it. but mine required a bit of rewiring to use the OBD1 dizzy on the OBD2 engine harness, so yours will be a bit easier.

but, since a majority of the connectors on the engine harness are for the head, minus the knock sensor, tranny sensors, and maybe a couple other ones. so the engine harness will plug directly up to the main wiring harness, and all H's have knock sensors so that'll plug right up. the dizzy will plug directly into the engine harness, and since the dizzy has the CKP, CYP, and TDC sensors, like you said you can just disconnect them @ the oil pump, and i'm pretty sure you should be good to go.

That's what I was thinking, and it would make sense. Yeah, the tranny will be obd1 as well.

The reason I was asking you about the mains the other day on those blocks was to find a 55 main journal diameter, and I didn't know if I could use the h22a4 (since it has 55 mains) because of the obd2 factor. Thanks for the help. It is much appreciated.
