My list

So i got my lude on tuesday night and heres the easy list of everything i want to do to it, im coming on a low budget and will robably do it a couple weeks at a time.

1. Get new and repair air filter cover and drafter underneath front lip
2. Change oil/filter and air filter
3. Balance tires
4. Security/Alarm (help needed, what to get, what not to get)
5. System
6. Replace passenger door panel (found some ripped leather stuff from an attempted theif and his dang hanger wire =/ just noticed today)
7. Tint
8. Lights
9. Rims
10. Body kit (are there bolt on kits?, ive tried searching but found nothing, like i said budget is low)
11. Paint

Let me know what you guys think!

Re: My list

Stay away from a body kit if you don't have the budget to do it right.
The last thing anyone wants to see is one of our beloved Preludes hidden under a bunch of warped-ass fiberglass that doesn't match your paint.

Stock is nice, anyway.
Go for clean first, then go for flashy.

Re: My list

I have a K&N drop in that I might let go of...

here's my for sale thread... sold 2 things already!
http://www.preludezone.com/showthread.php?t=14226
"-sending out feelers for my K&N drop in air filter used for about 1.5 years... make an offer..."

I could get you a lot cheaper than that ebay seller.... filter basically looks new.

royal purple is good oil as well.... and mobile 1 is a cheaper alternative to both...

Re: My list

For alarm, don't have a false sense of security. ALL a properly installed alarm does is keep someone from breaking and turning over the igntion and driving away. The siren will sound if the door is opened or it is bashed enough to set off the shock sensor. This rarely detours criminals. A good alarm from a reputable shop should be about 200 dollars. There is all kinds of crazy stuff that you can add to an alarm, glass break, tilt sensor, some units are paging, etc. My advice is full coverage insurance. If someone breaks into my car with attempt at theft, they can have it. Ill take my check. More often than not they do a lot of damage. I work at a shop that installs them and we don't point people away but coming from an installers point of view, an alarm isn't going to do anything more than my transponder key is.
