Re: hooray for fu*#&$ up internals

symptoms??
what gives you that assumption?

if you have a good feeling its the t-belt tho, just see if the cam gears are lined up with each other and with the crank being @ TDC.

i'm 100% positive that when i ****ed up the internals of my first H23, it was 10000% more badass than yours tho

Re: hooray for fu*#&$ up internals

symptoms like i said dist rotor wasent turning exhaust wasent compressing thats not an entire valid test i didnt have anything to check the intake for vacume
or remove the valve cover
i just got home so im gona see right now what happened

fortunatly i was about 2 miles tops away from the house and when it snaped "illegidly" i was just about to move from a stop sign when i put on the gas the thing just boged and died

i dunno im pretty shure but as long as i can salvage the block and head i just just toss in all the lovely skunk 2 internals i have sitting right over here
hooray!!!! bastard car

Re: hooray for fu*#&$ up internals

well the belt didnt break theres tension on it but the cams arent turning and the crank will.

either it striped out around the teeth for the crank pulley or the tensior pulley took a dump and the belt is wedged between the cover and something else.

bottom line one assembly is spining and the other isisnt.

Re: hooray for fu*#&$ up internals

snapped timing belt or keyway...

Timing belts can be deceptive and appear intact and functional, although its obvious something is amiss. Pull the lower cover and see.

BTW. The H22 is a non V2P interference motor... Does that make you feel any better? Its those damn DUAL cams that allow both the intake and exhaust valves to open up at the same time that cause issues when they actually do.

Re: hooray for fu*#&$ up internals

it would make me feel alot better if some came in and said....
hey your engine is fine it just needs a new belt, tensinior, and maybe something else...
and that it dosent have any bent valves or shattered bearings

now once again if one assembly is spining and the other isisnt with 16 valves in question here the odds are at least 1 is bent which to me would be totaled motor time for skunk 2 intenrals
if i could just slap a belt on there and time it and be on my way i would
hell i have to tear it all out anyway, i will just for ****s and giggles to see what happens!!!

Re: hooray for fu*#&$ up internals

bent valves is a fixable problem as long as your pistons are good... and if you can do most of the work yourself its cheaper than a new motor...
