clutch problems

so i was drivin last night and i went to down shift and well my clutch pedal went straight to the ground, no pressure behind it wat so ever, i couldnt get it into any gear at all, every attempt resulted in major grinding, while the car is of i can get it into any gear i want, i check my fluid and i had none, i put some in and i still have no pressure in my pedal at all, also once i get it into gear while car is off i can start it and drive it and it will shift as long as im movin....any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: clutch problems

When you added fluid, did you bleed the clutch? Even if you add fluid, you have to remove all the air in the lines. Also, during/after bleeding, you will need to inspect the clutch master and slave cylinders. Then check for leaks. Sounds like the clutch itself should be ok. hopefully!

Re: clutch problems

Just make sure there's no leaks while you do it. I'm willing to bet there is one though.

GO NECK. Good jarb. Just bleed the **** out of that bitch until you A) find a leak, or B) convince yourself there is no leak.

Re: clutch problems

Yeah I live up on the IA/IL border and that winter storm was WAAAAY overhyped, like they always are. We barely got an inch of snow here. But good luck, and the storm shouldn't be a problem since I assume you'll be IN a garage. lol

Re: clutch problems

no the storm easnt a problem, i got the clutch fixed and everything else i needed to do but when i went to put the battery back in i hooked it up backwards now nothing at all works, its getting power to the fuse panel under the hood but not the under dash panel, and the flat tire i had is because the rim is bent, im having the best luck in the world let me tell ya

LoL you hooked the battery up backwards...That's not bad luck dude, that's just lack of attention. New battery time.

Re: clutch problems

yea ur right it was lack of attention and enough to piss you off when its the last thing u gotta do before she is ready to start, i bought a new battery, a new fuse, the clutch has been bled, the rest of the ac has been takin off (since it was cut all up when i got it) headlights been rewired, started her up and she is good to go...all i need now is to fix the bracket that goes from the motor to the motor mount since well some how it broke off, i thought it was a busted mount lil did i know the freaking bracket is broke off

Re: clutch problems

Well get it fixed! Is it driveable? I'd imagine you get a lot of vibration or something with a broken mount bracket.

You could just buy a new bracket instead of welding it maybe? Iunno.
