*Update* H23 to H22 swap

*UPDATE*
So i got my car back today. Drove it for the first time in 2 months. The h22a is super smooth. The only thing is that my car sounds really stupid right now, like the exhaust is being restricted. When driving the gears shift smooth but at a rest sometimes you have to dick with it to get it to go in. I'm thinking maybe it's just the linkage. Anyway, any suggestions now that i have this h22 in my possession?

* I have various parts available from my other motor. I'll make a list of everything and post soon, hopefully i can get some of this stuff sold.

Umm....Very rarely my car won't go into first, but i'll just shift into another random gear and then it will slide right into first, I don't think it's anything to worry about, unless yours is doing it like ALL the time... As for suggestions...what do you want suggestions on? lol

did u put your metal and plastic washers back on your shift linkage that connects at the tranny side? that might be where your free play is coming from

That's a good guess...But I would definitely go with linkage.

Re: *Update* H23 to H22 swap

Thanks guys, i kept the linkage from my h23 to use with the h22 tranny, but i checked and the specs for the linkage are the same. So there's no need for adjusting. It could be the tranny side of the assembly though, either that or my synchros. Fifth gear grinds every time regardless of speed.

Re: *Update* H23 to H22 swap

Not sure if this is right but it's just an idea, but I looked in my handy-dandy Honda book (Honda/Acura Engine Performance, Mike Kojima), and in the section about H-series swaps, it says on some cars the bracket on the frame rail will need to be [re]moved or it will interfere with the shift linkage. Just an idear.
